National Conserve Energy Day! Here are some great tips.

In recognition of National Conserve Energy day I thought I would give some great and easy tips on conserving energy.
1. Unplug appliances that you seldom use. Even when they are turned off electricity is still be used. This includes plugs for electronics such as phone chargers.
2. In the winter you should set your thermostat to 68 degrees. You should also use the sunlight during the day to help heat up your house. Raise blinds and pull back curtains to get some natural heat.
3. If you are leaving your house for a few days turn your thermostat to 78 this will save energy while still keep your house at a normal temperature.
4. Here is one that I hadn't thought of, when you are using the oven try not to peek inside. Meaning leave the door shut as much as possible. The more heat you let out the more electricity you are using to keep it at that temperature.
5. Finally, when you are washing clothes make sure you have the water set to the correct load size. The less water you use the less electricity you will use.

I hope these help and now you can celebrate this holiday with us!
